My future
What do I think about my future job?… That is a difficult question for someone pessimistic, my expectations of the future don't go that far. I guess I should work on something related to my career, it's the option with more sense.
I did not choose a psychology degree because of its field of work, I did it because I was curious. I didn’t understand how people think or act normally, so I decided to study something that would give me answers.
Working as a military psychologist would give me the advantage of retiring at 50 instead of 65.
Working in experimental psychology and neuroscience sounds like something fun. Since I was a kid I had an interest in lab coats.
Being a psychiatrist also sounds like a good option since there are very few in Chile.
I honestly think that as long as a job gives you money and doesn't over-exploit you, it's perfect. So it is not essential to me whether or not business trips, whether it's outdoors, in the office, or the laboratory (although, I think my inner child would like a laboratory).
Regarding the academic future, I will try to maintain a good grade point average and do assistantships in my third year. If I meet those requirements, I'll be able to get a doctoral scholarship abroad. I still don't know which psychology branch I will specialize in, but at least I am sure that it will be an interesting experience.
Hi Neyt! I think it's good that you have work options with those considerations in mind and that you are not in a hurry to want something so defined right now. Succeed in your projects!
